FA Tracker is a mobile service from KhanTech Labs. You can request deletion of your FA Tracker account and the personal data associated with it in either of the following ways.
Delete in FA Tracker
- Open Settings.
- Choose Account.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm.
You must be signed in for this route. The request is recorded first and then processed. If processing is delayed, the service retries it; deletion is not promised to be immediate.
Request deletion without the app
Email khantech.apps@gmail.com with the subject Delete my FA Tracker account. Send the request from the email address associated with the account and state that account email in the message. The account email is normally sufficient to start the request.
Do not send your South African ID number, firearm serial number or SAPS application reference. We do not need those details for a deletion request.
Before destructive processing, KhanTech Labs will reasonably verify control of the account. We do not confirm to an unverified requester whether an arbitrary email address has an FA Tracker account.
What happens to associated data
Once a verified request is processed, the account and account-linked customer data are deleted, scrubbed or de-identified. This includes profile and sign-in data; application, firearm, tracking and notification data; submitted Motivation questionnaire content and documents; callback contact details; and identifying Ask the Pro message content.
Using the in-app route also clears FA Tracker account data stored by the app on that device after server-side deletion completes. If you request deletion by email, you may also remove the app from your devices to clear its local data.
Limited records that may remain
- Ask the Pro message bodies are scrubbed. The de-identified support record may be retained for up to 12 months for accountability and support-quality purposes, then purged.
- Completed callback requests may leave a de-identified operational shell after the name, mobile number, notes and account link are removed.
- A Motivation service case may leave a de-identified administrative shell after submitted content, documents and account linkage are removed.
- Minimal security, fraud-prevention and audit records may remain where needed to protect the service, demonstrate administrative actions or meet legal obligations.
- Genuinely de-identified community statistics may be retained because they no longer identify an account.
Except for the 12-month Ask the Pro period stated above, FA Tracker does not publish a fixed retention period for these narrow records. They are kept only for as long as the relevant security, audit, legal or operational purpose requires.
